Founded in 2019, InnovAero began with a belief that unmanned aircraft systems could deliver meaningful value far beyond conventional aerial photography.
Since then, we have explored, adapted and applied UAS technology across agriculture, oil and gas, construction, geospatial surveying, media, research and other operational environments. Our experience spans aerial surveillance, LiDAR and photogrammetric data acquisition, multispectral imaging, construction monitoring, agricultural spraying and specialised flight operations.
Today, InnovAero is evolving beyond conventional drone services. We work with organisations to identify practical applications for unmanned systems, deploy the appropriate technologies and integrate them into existing operations, processes and procedures.
As a home-grown Bruneian company, InnovAero is committed to developing local capability and advancing the responsible adoption of unmanned systems. Our ambition is to make a meaningful contribution to Brunei Darussalam’s progress by helping organisations operate more safely, efficiently and intelligently, while supporting the development of a capable and sustainable national UAS ecosystem.

InnovAero began its journey in August 2019 from a modest workspace at iCentre, Anggrek Desa. During these early months, the team began transforming its interest in drone technology into a structured operation—developing foundational workflows, building technical capability and exploring practical applications across agriculture and construction.
As the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted industries worldwide, InnovAero used the period to strengthen its foundations—developing operational knowledge, refining internal workflows and building the technical competencies required for future UAS projects.
Despite continued pandemic disruption, 2021 marked InnovAero’s transition from capability-building to active project delivery, with growing involvement in private-sector UAS projects.
InnovAero expanded beyond Brunei with the delivery of its first overseas projects in Malaysia. Locally, the company broadened its experience through IoT-related research and development activities in Wasan and Junjongan, while beginning the formal development of its occupational health and safety systems in preparation for ISO 45001:2018 certification.
2023 marked a major turning point for InnovAero and became the company’s strongest year to that point. We secured our largest projects to date, supporting Brunei Shell Petroleum and the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood.
The year also brought strengthened leadership and clearer direction for the company’s growth. InnovAero achieved ISO 45001:2018 certification and secured approval to conduct onshore RPAS operations in accordance with the Shell Group Requirements for Aircraft Operations.
Building on the previous year’s momentum, InnovAero expanded into advanced geospatial data acquisition with the integration of UAV LiDAR technology. This capability enabled the collection of high-accuracy point cloud data for mapping, modelling, analysis and other industry applications.
Our capabilities within the oil and gas sector also advanced, with InnovAero receiving authorisation from the Department of Civil Aviation to conduct offshore and night UAS operations.
